Located on the edge of lush open pasture land, this house is perched on a bench overlooking the Big Hole River bottom. A spring was developed to support a fishing pond complex near the house. Designed by the owner and Vigilante Construction, the house has hand hewn log siding and oversized mortise and tendon antique beams and heavy cedar shake roof. The massiveness on these details makes this home appear smaller, like a log cabin which may have been there a long time. Vigilante Construction oversaw this extensive project which included creating a pond, building roads, installing an irrigation system for the near by pasture, and planting a grove of trees to function as a visual screen between the neighbors home. |
